This book is one of our best choices for new owners.

This wonderful, fantastic book is the culmination
of exhaustive research by the author. Loaded with fine writing and
wonderful pictures, it is sadly out of print. Amazon has listings
of used copies which occasionally come available for sale (Be prepared
to pay!). This is the classic book on Frenchies, and I ADORE it.

with the words "French Bulldog" in the title. Can sometimes be found on eBay.

Published in 1965, this out of print little
handbook is a charming glimpse into French Bulldogs of the past.
Fascinating black and white photos of numerous Terrette's and Hampton
dogs. Occasionally can be found on Ebay - but don't expect to pay anything near the original sticker price
of $1.

I haven't read this one, so I'll just give you the publisher's blurb:
"French Bulldog is a welcome and reliable resource on breed
history, characteristics and pet attributes, breed standard, grooming,
puppy care, housetraining, nutrition and feeding, basic obedience
training, proper health care, and the congenital and acquired disorders
that concern all purebred dog enthusiasts.". Apparently, it's
quite good, and Muriel Lee is an excellent writer.

This book is a compendium of articles written
by Veterinarian and French Bulldog fancier Ann Winsor, DVM which
have appeared in the French Bullytin over the years. I find Ann's
articles to be useful and easy to understand, so I imagine the book
will be a great resource for Frenchie owners.

I can't tell you anything about this one,
but I do know it's one in the Barron's series of intstructive books,
and the series is usually a fairly accurate, if somewhat light weight,
over view of a breed. Worth a look, I suppose. If anyone has more
info on it, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
